Champagne Bottle on Cake Central

This was really hard to get right! I started out icing the bake in buttercream, but I couldnt get it to stand upright and I couldnt get a smooth texture. At the last minute I decided to use white chocolate tinted dark green OVER the crusted buttercream. What a nightmare! I think the fondant helped to distract from the horrible look of the cake. Oy. Next time, remind me to say no to an upright champagne bottle cake request!!!
