I made this cake for my mother's 58th birthday after she saw and fell in love with CakesUnleashed's absolutely gorgeous Celestial Moon Cake. Having neither the incredible skill nor the materials used the the original, I gave it my best shot and it made my mom smile. :-) The moon is candy clay over mmf, the stars are candy clay, the buttercream was colored with wilton violet with added blue, and the moon faces was colored with petal dust and shimmer dust.
