My first attempt at a mini cake (at least smaller than a 4" round) to see if I want to do these for my dh's surprise bday next month. I followed SugarBloomCupcake's tutorial & was highly surprised how easy it was. I only used 2 cupcakes b/c I didn't want it super tall.
