Halloween Birthday Cake

Halloween Birthday Cake on Cake Central

Yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and icing for a 6 year old girl's birthday. Ghosts are made of marshmallow fondant. Pumpkin is made of two mini bundt cakes with chocolate buttercream filling, a thin layer of icing and covered with marshmallow fondant. Ghost confetti lines the border. I had so much fun making this cake!

oh, now that has to be about the cutest thing I have ever seen! Wow! Is that buttercream piped on in lines on the side or hardened chocolate in thin bars?

This is an incredible cake! You might have to do a tutorial on this one! Love the sides of the cake, the borders, and the confetti ghosts. Really outstanding. Wow!

This is such a unique cake!! The piping on the sides is something I've never seen before & it looks great! I can see it on all different types of cake...nice change from the norm! And the confetti around the borders is a nice touch too....definitely going into my favorites...AWESOME!!!!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. For once, the cake turned out exactly like the picture in my head! The sides are piped with the straight side of tip 47-I love this effect because it's different and quicker than basketweave.

I have to say. This has been in my fav's for a long time. And everytime I see it I always want to try and make it. You did such a fabulous job! This is my FAVORITE HALLOWEEN CAKE

Most adorable Halloween cake I've ever seen!! How did you get the little fondant ghosts to look like they are floating??

The ghosts were dried on top of a prescription bottle. Under the ghost head is a ball of fondant. When dried I just stuck a long, thin straw into the head and down into the cake. They jiggle a little bit when you move the cake.

Thanks for all the kind words! Pianocat-youare right cookie crumbs on top. I cut the banner out freehand and used cutters as an embosser for the birthday wishes
