Independance Day
This is the cake I made for the "Sweet Times in the Rockies" cake show in Denver this weekend. The cakes are fake of course but they are covered in fondant with the horse made of modeling chocolate and the belt buckle is gumpaste. The second tier is painted and the bottom is a fondant band made to look like tooled leather, I also covered the board with fondant in a distressed finish and painted to look like denim. I wanted the top to look like fireworks with wires and fondant pearls.
