Police Car Cake

Police Car Cake on Cake Central

This was a cake I put together as a "thank you" from our girl scout troop to the police station for letting my 18 Brownie Girl Scouts stampeed, uhm, I mean tour through their station. I really need to work on some other object for tires, because all my car cakes have flat tires :)

This is really cute. About the tires...... I have heard of people using ding dongs for the tires. They are already round and brown!

Cute cake, you can also use the small chocolate covered doughnuts for wheels and put icing or white choc. chip in center.

It's the wilton car cake pan. They still have them on the shelf's at Michaels, so they should be fairly easy to find. I've used this pan probably 6 times in the last year. It's a popular cake. You can even decorate it in retro flowers for a more "girlish" look.

I have also made the car cake several times and oreo cookies are awesome to use. I usually split them and only use one side of the cookie (not the middle stuff) so they're nice and flat against the cake. Then you can use a circle cutter and make a hubcap out of fondant or just ice one on! I also use tictacs (orange) for parking lights! Great cake...into my favorites it goes!

Cool idea on the Oreo's AND the tick tacks! I would not have come up with that on my own. I'll have to put that in my mental rolodex for future reference. Thanks!
