Practice Wedding Cake

Practice Wedding Cake on Cake Central

This is the first practice for a friend's wedding cake. We've got until July to get it right. She knows she wants the heart pan and "red" roses but that's about it. I made the roses and she placed them where she wanted. Her family liked it but I'm not sure about it still...if you've got ideas I'd love to hear them. It was an almond pound cake with cream cheese icing. We've decided that there needs to be 3 layers instead of 2 so it will be taller.

Good start. Try using Americolor true red for a truer red color. Also, it looks like your icing may be too thick for the roses, try a little thinner consistency, you will get smoother edges.

Add some leaves to fill in the gaps. Ask her if light green leaves are ok,or if she prefers white leaves, to not detract from the red roses. Other than that, your roses have good volume and height. Looks good!

Add the leaves. May add same icing under same rose to gave height. I would do piping around the cake in white too show off the roses. I put the time in making roses SHOW them OFF Keep the nice job up!!!
