Wedding Cake For Hindu Wedding
This Margaret Braun inspired wedding cake was done for my cousin....who will be marrying under Hindu Rites, with her colour theme being predominantly burgundy and gold. The entire cake is hand painted, and gilded with Gold Highlight - measuring 24" tall, layers of 14", 10" and 6" cake, with a styro 'topper'. The 'leaves' in the middle are representative of the lotus flower, the bride having spent wonderful years in Thailand. So included a bit of the Asian in the Eastern.

Moving a cake this size is easier than a light cake. It is very stable, and the weight makes it difficult to slip and slide anywhere. I also use a 1/4 inch thick foam pad on the floor of the car trunk, and this keeps it in place. Plus drive slowly over bumps and corners.

by the way, I use a friend's 4 x 4 to deliver.....my stationwagon just cannot accommodate the height.
