Alladin-Style Donation Cake

Alladin-Style Donation Cake on Cake Central

This was so, SO fun to make! It's my interpretation of a Margeret Braun design, with a little of Colette in the topper idea. All fondant and royal, painted with luster dust. Topper is sugar molds covered with fondant. 8" red velvet cake for a benefit auction for a friend who has brain cancer. I think I have a new favorite style of cake to make, though I think I spent about 15 hours on it. :)

Thanks so much you guys--I'm thinking I want to try some more of MB's style now, only not for free this time, lol

Oh yes! 15 hours seems to be the norm on these cakes! This style is my favorite type of cake to make too....but I can't seem to get below 15 hours prep. It really cuts down on the profit per hour! Beautifully done! Can't wait to see more! :P :P

Well, they called today, and said it went for $280 at the auction, (DH's business donation added about $1000), and the auction raised over $100,000 for this family, plus the bank donations of the same gave them over $200K. The wife got up to say something our friend had written because he's lost verbal ability, but she was so overwhelmed she couldn't speak. It was awesome!

Wow! Wow! That's incredible, I'm planning to try something like this soon but I can't imagine mine coming out even half as good!!!
