I originally posted this in the cake disasters board. The "froth" on the side is actually covering the side of the cake that fell off on the way to the party. Everyone raved about it, though. It's french avanilla cake, with strawberry filling. I did four 8-inch rounds, and the "coaster" is made of a torted 10-inch round. It's all BC and the logo is made of the pre-colored melting chocolates from Michaels.
If you hadn't told us, we wouldn't have known this was a disaster cake at all! I love it!
Great job! If you look under my photos I did a beer stein too but shaped my handle out of fondant & used lollipop sticks to hold in the handle. Can you tell me how you made your handle look so perfect? Please! :D
Actually it IS fondant. I rolled it like a play-dough snake and let it dry for a couple days in the shape I wanted, with wooden skewers inserted in each end. :)
