Bear Baby Shower

Bear Baby Shower on Cake Central

Critique subgroup member: This is a baby shower cake I id for my cousin. I used the Aine2 tutorial for the bears which are made from fondant. The cake is covered in MMF and all decorations are fondant. Despite a few issues with the fondant I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Critique Subgroup Member: Your cake looks very nice. I like the ivory with the blue. I think your bow loops could have been a bit thinner, but other than that and the minor fondant issues, it's a great cake.

I'm not sure what color blue it actually is I just kept mixing sky blue into my fondant until I got the color I wanted

critique subgroup member: adorable cake!! the bears are soo cute! and I too love the blue and ivory! my only critique is the size of the cake board could have been a bit bigger and the sides of the bottom cake seem to be a bit wavy, but overall great cake!

critique subgroup member: I would be pleased, too. Your cake came out wonderful! I see the minor issues you were talking about but overall, it's fabulous. Great work on your bears. I like the little roses, too. Nice touch

critique subgroup member: Well how cute is that??? Your bears are just too precious and I love the colors on this cake. I see a few flaws in the fondant (as you mentioned), but they certainly do not take away from the overall presentation and design of this cake. It's so sweet. Well done.

Critique Group MEmber: I LOVE this cake. It's perfect for a baby shower, and something different than the standard sleeping baby theme. Love the color blue! I was trying to achieve this color for ababy shower cake I made and was not able to. I would have made the roses white so they could pop and maybe made the board a little bigger, but you did a great job covering the board. I see your issues with the fondant but I am sure your customer didn't even notice. Great cake!!!

Critique subgroup member: Almost perfect! Adorable design. Lovely colors. I think your fondant was too thick and pulled down and buckled. Or it could have been your BC was too dry causing it not to stick and stay put. Pick up a hand crank pasta machine from Michaels with your 40% coupon ($15.00 bucks) and get your bows thinner. I roll on a 4 very thin and it is still to thick for me. Are those Aine's bears-adorable? She has duckies out now, checking them out.

critique group member: Beautiful cake!! Only thing I see are the minor fondant issues and IMO, I think something else might have needed to be added to the top along with the bears, it looks a little plain. Overall, it's beautiful!!

Critique Subgroup member: really great overall -- bears are super cute and colors are great. Good lines too. I agree that the bow could have been a bit thiner. I really like the board and the roses. Nice clean look overall.

critique subgroup member: this is adorable and i love the bears! it does look a little like the bow is falling off, though. i love the stripes and the polka dots. the colors are lovely. i hope you aren't turned off by fondant, you did an excellent job!

critique group member. this design is adorable i like the bears but i personally would have left the skin soft rather than the texture. it also i looks like you have a bit of a bulge on the right side not sure if it is just the pic. Great job!
