I wanted to make a giant cupcake shaped cake and figured no better time to do so than my 30th birthday. I tried a new frosting and it turned out well after I tweaked it a bit. I used 2- 6in. layers and half of the sports ball pan and shaved down the sides. I think the next time I make this type of cake, I'll make it a little shorter. I took this to my stepdad's house for dinner and he ended up knocking the cake over in the box because it was so heavy, luckily I was able to fix it.
