Graduation
This was for a friend who passed all her exams and is graduating from college!! Got idea from another CC'er, but I forgot the persons name!! Anyway, it was very easy to make and fun too!! The tassle is fondant, the hat is cardboard covered in fondant, the cake is strawberry covered in BC and fondant.
GREAT JOB! I did one last night that looks nowhere near as good, but it was a VERY rush job too. Great job to you!

Critique Group Member: Very nicely done. I can see where it would be an easy cake to make. My critiques for you would be to carve the cake to make it look more like a graduation hat. Also (unless this is something that is done in your area) I would not advertise on the cake. I wish I could pipe letters that good.
After just looked at another cake of yours I realized that maybe that was a computer generated advertisement or watermark for your photo - sorry. :oops:

Critique Subgroup Member: Hmm the motoboard top seems sort of big for the cake. I think the cake should have been bigger in diameter. and since it is a rather plain cake you could spruce up the cake board. Your tassle is fantastic! Anyway, I will still add to my favs for references.
critique subgroup member: you do very nice smooth fondant work! wish I could accomplish that! I too think the cake could have been carved for more of a cap appearance. Were the school colors white & black? if not, you might have added a bit of these colors to the tassle perhaps. But I very much like the simplicity of this cake, adds elegance
