Golf And Bikes Birthday

Golf And Bikes Birthday on Cake Central

The man this cake was for loves golf and riding his bike so the top of the cake had a golf club and ball and the side had bikes going around it. For the bikes on the side of the cake, I had to use a motorcycle cookie cutter and modify it to work because I didn't have time to order one online.

Critique group member: Hmm this one is hard for me. Golf motiff is boring to me. Now your bikes are cool. Because of the green I would have a hard time eating the cake I think. A different border to compliment the bikes maybe and possibly a taller cake (3 tiers) so the bikes don't appear squished. I don't like writing on the cake so maybe a golf score card with the HB...Dad written on it....

Critque group member: I think the bikes are really cool, they look great! I agree with the others who suggested perhaps using the grass tip..would have made a great border to seperate the white and green. Nice job overall!

I love the bicycles, and again very inventive to use what you have and make it work! to me the club and the ball seem out of proportion and just layed on the top, no flow. You might have added some texture to the top by piping some grass and maybe make it appear as a green with hole??

critique group member: A unique way to incorporate his two passions! My only suggestion would be to add some type of border around the top to divide the green top from the white sides and the golf theme from the bike theme.

Critique group member:I agree with needing a border. Very impressive that you made do with what you had and executed it perfeclty! I love the little bikes!

Critique group member: I love the bikes! Your golf ball is pretty cool too. Maybe a suggestion is to have used a grass border around the top; also maybe make the '!' less thick. I like the idea of the dual theme.

Critique group member: Very nice idea! Ithink it would have been better to have done a border in between the green and white so you don't see where they meet. I also would have done a smaller border that the bikes would not have smashed so much (maybe the bead border?). YOur golf ball and bikes looks great though, well done!
