I made the marks with a toothpick and then brushed on the coloring.

I used 4" & 6" pans. -- I just want to say that I've been only doing this cake thing since the summer. I'm really thrilled that this one has drawn so much attention. Thank you everybody!

On dowel through the whole thing and little straws supporting each layer.
