My second fondant cake, a lot of fun and my kids loved it but I had some excess powdered sugar from rolling that stayed on, how do I get rid of this?

cute cake! Use a pastry type brush to brush it off after ya get it on the cake;-)
That is a cute cake! To get a clean finish on the fondant use a paintbrush dampend with clear vanilla or vodka.
