Black Bows

Black Bows on Cake Central

6" & 8" square for a small wedding. BC with fondant bows. The quilting was done by hand with a triangle and a bench scraper. I'm ordering the impression mat right now!!! Silver dragees were also made by hand. I'm gonna get some of those too!!!!

For the bows, I started with a black fondant and then airbrushed with black to get a better "shine". The camera flash added the red undertones.

I also couldn't believe these were fondant bows!!! So beautifully done! You will appreciate the impression mats after doing this by hand!!! And how does one make silver dragees????? Very elegant work!!

For the dragees, I don't have one of those pearl strand molds, so I use tip #6 and punch out a whole lot of circles from MMF. It only needs to be rolled into a ball, just a bit. Then I drop them in a jar with silver luster dust and shake it up until they're all covered. It takes a little time, but it something to do while you're sitting and watching TV. I have to order that stuff online, so this works in a pinch.
