Spiderman And Green Goblin

Spiderman And Green Goblin on Cake Central

This was the second cake I made for my son's 6th birthday. This one was for his party with family. 11 x 15. FBCT. These were two seperate pictures from a coloring book...tried to make them look like they were supposed to go together. Spiderman didn't come out as clearly as I wanted as my 21 month old stuck his finger through it as I was working on it and had to try and repair (kids!). Was overall happy with the transfers. Think the cake looks unfinished. Should have done border around top of cake.

FBCT turned out great. The overall frosting could have been a bit smoother, and I agree it needed a border to give that finished look. And as I said about a previous cake, I am not a fan of the star border, though others may love that type of border.

besides the icing being smoother, I think it's great. I think the size of the transfers are good and that it doesn't need borders. By the way, I like the handwriting on this, too

Very detailed transfers - great job on that. Interesting how we all have different opinions on design - given the size of your transfers, I think the cake is better without a border because you have a substantial border around the transfers; so, I think it would have been too much.

critique member: I think your FBCT are really good. I am scared to even try one! I think this cake might have looked better with a subtle colored icing...rather than the off white. Maybe a grey or tan. I don't know. It just seems like there needs to be a different color on the background. I am sure that your son LOVED this cake, and rightfully so!

They do look like they match and your Transfers are great. I think I would have shrunk the transfers a bit and made it like a puzzle cake sort of like this.... (...)

This looks good! My son LOVES spiderman...(and DH, too!) Where did you get the transfers? I have never used them before.
