The Kodava Community is a community of people who come from a district called Coorg in South India. This cake showcases parts of the wedding... the band of men who play music at the wedding with their traditional instruments and one of the ceremonies they have where the bride has to break a coconut into a well... The cake is a fruit cake covered with mazipan and sugarpaste, and all the decorations are handmade with gumpaste and the piped work is all royal icing.
