Halloween Cake

Halloween Cake on Cake Central

I made this for my nephew. All the decorations are hand molded from fondant and painted. I had problems with my icing and had to do a major patch job on the left side, I hope I covered it enough :)

your molded figures are very well done. As others have said, I would have lightened up on the frosting colors as the darker icing has a more unappetizing look to it. Also by lightening the overall frosting, you moled figures would have popped more as they have the deep colors also. Your bottom borders are very nicely done, very evenly sized and spaced, the top borders could use a little work on spacing and even sizing. The overall idea is very cute!!

Your hand molded fondant figures are well done. Your contast is well thought out, unfortunately I just don't care for the color. Did everyone have colored teeth? I'd have a very hard time eating it bcause the color doesn't appeal to me. I think you could get the same effect using the color in the decorations. The top orange border is uneven and really stands out in the contrast. But the overall design is very well thought out. And that spider is wonderful!

Yep - love your figures again! A suggestion is to maybe have iced both cakes in orange and used blue and orange borders (?).

I miust be a freak because I love the colors!! I love the blue and how it brightens up the orange to an alarming shade! Plus, it looks awesome against the black border.

Critique Group Member: I also loved the colors! I'm sure the kids probably had colored teeth and lips but I bet they had fun with it. To help you out on the ball border try piping from a side angle rather than from the top angle. That has help me out greatly.
