This cake was practice & is many firsts for me. First tiered cake, first scrolls, first stripes and first bead border. The cakes are 2 layers, 8-in & 6-in pans, chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Not too thrilled w/ the way the top cake came out, I tried to make 2-in layer cakes w/ a 3-in tall cake pan, doesn't work very well. I cut the dowel rods uneven so the cake looks even more crooked. I learned a lot & am pretty happy w/ how the bottom cake came out. Thx to lynsey & yourstrulytx for inspiration.
