Fall - Thanksgiving Cake
Here's a cake that would be great for Thanksgiving! I actually made it for my MIL's birthday and a cake contest. Let me know what you think. It's modeled after a Fitz and Floyd Hawthorne Dinnerware pattern. it's a White Chocolate Amaretto cake with Amaretto flavored BC. The decorations are fondant leaves and acorns, all else BC. The leaves were fall colored and then accented with bronze and gold luster dust. I didn't do the acorns... maybe I should. Thanks for looking.
Absolutely beautiful, it's gorgeous, you really should win with this one
Love a unique cake everytime. This is eye catching, and, I bet your MIL flipped.
Wowie! :D That's great!
How did you do the background pine leaves? They look airbrushed. I love this cake!
Thanks all.. maggiesmith I painted on the pine leaves. I used vodka and a bit of juniper green and very lightly brushed them on.
The detailing on this is soo beautiful - it almost doesn't look real!! I love it!!
I love the look you achieved with the "Mixed-Media" approach.
The cake is gorgeous! I've been wanting to try painting on buttercream. What type of color did you use and what kind of brush?
