Baking Contest At Annual Oktoberfest
I won first place!!! This is a Butter Pecan Cake with Apricots and Cream Cheese Icing. Also, this was my first time to do the basket weave, which was a lot of fun. The leaves are fondant with leave cookie cutters and I used a toothpick to make the veins. The I took gel colors and watered them down with Lemon extract to paint the color.
Butter Pecan ranks right up there with Pumpkin Spice this time of year...sounds wonderful! Congratulations! You did a fantastic job on your basketweave! Doubly good getting such great results with the technique out of cream cheese icing!
