My sister-in-law said she wanted a farm cake again this year. It was a multiple birthday for male and female, young and older so I made a cow for each one. They raise tobacco so I put on some tobacco plants which turned into a joke at the party since we let the little kids "chew" the tobacco plants. This cake was so much work but a lot of fun.

Thanks! The tractor is made out of one piece of fondant, the steering wheel is a toothpick covered in fondant with a circle of fondant for the wheel. For the wood pieces I used tan fondant and used a toothpick to make the lines and then mixed a darker paint from vanilla and brown to paint over it. The leaves were done the same way for the veins.

Thanks so much everyone. My e-mail is down right now so I will just explain it here. It is so easy! I roll a ball for the head the I use the end of a round tip for the eyes. the size depends on how big your head is. For the mouth I just use the bigger end of the tip you use for the eyes. I rolled a tiny ball for the nose and another one for the ear that I flatened and cut in half. I made the bow and attatched the curl onto the bow with a little water. Running out of room.....

I mixed a little pink with vanilla and dabbed it on the check. The hand is a flatened oval that I used a knife to indent for the fingers. The body was easy since you don't see it. I just got the basic shape and made the butt part higher since most babies sleep that way. The blanket I just made a square and used the Wilton fondant tool that has different wheels on it to make the stiching. I used a toothpick for the fringe and brushed it all with pearl luster dust. I hope that helps.

Forgot about the writing. :P I print out a font in the size I need for all of the words. The I place them on the cake the way I want them. As I am writing on the cake I move each word above were it will be and copy the letters. This way I copy it just like the font and I can keep the size right and I use the edge of the paper to keep my writing straight.

It's adorable. Love the significance behind the cute cows, and the little touches too (like the feed bags...) Darling!
