I made this for a coworker's sister. She asked for a "fall" cake. I was stumped until I found some apple cakes on this site. I'm not a big fan of fondant, so I didn't use any. The cake and apples are frosted in buttercream. The leaves are royal icing, the butterflies are wafer paper. The apple stems and the ladybug are made from chocolate. They might not look as realistic as some of the others on this site, but I'm still new to cake decorating.
