Sparkling Candy Corn Cookies on Cake Central

I found this recipe in the Harvest Baking Land O Lakes Recipe Collection magazine. They are bite-sized and super easy to make.

Thanks! Here's the recipe: 1 c softened butter; 1 c sugar; 1 egg; 2 T orange juice; 2 t grated orage peel; 1/8 t salt; 3 c flour; 1/2 t baking soda; orange & yellow color; 1/2 c sugar. Line bottom & sides of 9x5 loaf pan with paper. Set aside. Combine butter & 1 c sugar. Beat until creamy. Add egg, orange juice, peel, & salt. Continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low. At flour and baking soda. Beat until well mixed. Divide dough into thirds. Press 1/3 onto bottom of pan.

Color other portions yellow and orange. Press orange dough over white dough. Then press yellow over orange. Cover & refrigerate until firm. Place 1/2 c sugar in bowl. Heat oven to 375. Invert loaf pan to remove dough; peel off paper. Cut crosswise into 1/4 sections. Cut each slice into 6 wedges. Place 1-inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for app. 7 minutes. Cool one minute. Place in sugar. Roll to coat. Place on cooling rack.
