My Last Wedding Cake....sniff.... on Cake Central

16in carrot, 12 in chocolate, 8in white with fondant drapes, my first attempt on a wedding cake. The bride seemed pleased. Fresh flowers supplied by bride.

critique subgroup member: What a pretty design. I love that draped look and the flowers are beautiful. I see some dents and inconsistencies here and there in the fondant, but they're minimal. This is a very nice cake. Well done. I'm sorry it was the last in your shop and your business closed.

critique subgroup member: it's a beautiful design and your draping is fabulous. The only thing I can see is that some areas a little bumpy and not as smooth/sharp as they should be. Your cake board is good except that it should be much thicker for such a heavy cake.

Critique subgroup member: I can't comment - sorry, I follow Tombi Peck's "author" rule of not placing fresh flowers on a cake. But this is my concern and not everyone goes by this standard.

Critique Subgroup Member: Pretty cake. The drapes are lovely, as are the borders. I see what you mean about fondant faults, but oh, well. I personally do not like fresh flowers on a cake. Sorry. But it's still very, very pretty.

Critique Subgroup Member. I think the folds in the top swag could have bee closer together. It looks like the drape is stretched out. It's a very pretty cake.

Critique Subgroup Member: Pretty presentation! I see some bumps in the BC and the upper swag seems too big, like it's stretched. I think the board could've been a little larger. Pretty!

Critique Subgroup Member: I think this is cake is very beautiful! The swag is really nice looking. The flowers are arranged very nicely and I agree with the minimal bumps on the cake showing. Overall very nice!

Critique Group Member: I also am not a big fan of fresh flowers on food. I like your swags. The cake looks beautiful. I can see why the bride was pleased. I do see the rough areas in the fondant work, but since it was your last, your heart probably wasn't in it as much :( I do like this cake.

critique subgroup member: very pretty cake, as others have stated, the less than smooth fondant. Your swags are beautiful! the cake board should have been a bit bigger, and for me, it seems like all the flowers are at the back of the cake, though I realize you did not want to cover the swags. I think a few more swooping forward would have added a bit more color to the front of the cake?

Critique subgroup member: Sorry to hear you closed up shop. I love this cake. I love that the dominant design on this cake are the swags. Besides the finger indentations or bumpyness of the icing, the cake is very pretty!

Critique group member: Very nice! I love the swags although I do see some inperfections. To me I think there too many flowers and although I am not against fresh flowers an dtend to like a more simplistic look. It's very pretty though!
