;-D You have done a fantastic job. I am new at cake decotating and want to do something similar for my son. He would love this! Could you please tell me what cake pans you have used and how to make the lid? many thx

The chest is two layers 12x6 (12x18 cut into thirds - did not use all 3). The lid is several 6-inch rounds cut in half and lined up on a board. That board was glued to a another board on which I had cut out a rectangular notch. The notch 'hooks onto' two wooden dowels that were pounded into the base cake, all the way through the base board.
