First paying cake! :) Still working on mmf technique so had corner touch ups. Castles are fun, but do take a while. Cake is 3 layer chocolate with almond bc and strawberry filling. MMF and royal icing decor. Sugar cones for turrets..paper towel rolls used for towers.
thats adorable love the colors !

I had better not let my daughter see this cake, or she'll beg for one just like it! Beautiful!
I'm with you isabelamerica2000! LOL Great job, love all the details!
I like your castle vines. I'm making my first castle next month and plan to use a empty tin can with both top and bottom cut out to cut cake out in layers to make the towers. What do you think?
Cindyann. Thank you:) Have fun doing your cake. I think there are examples on the site of others who have done cake towers. Honestly, for me it was a good way to cut corners as the rest of the cake still took 12-15 hrs. I applaud the purism though! It should work, just make sure you have a good support dowel running down through the tower layers to make it sturdy. Good Luck! Thalia:)
hey cindyann, you can bake cake directly in soup cans.....I spray them and line with parchment just to be sure nothing sticks.....or you can use gumpaste around paper towel rolls and then once dried remove the rolls and fill the turets with candy, small toys, etc. could be fun.....thalia, I love your castles!!!! Looks like you will be making tons, they're so nice
