Embroidered Flowers

This is a 12, 9, and 6 in. rd cake done in bc. I have never done brushed embroidery before so this was a first for me. I really made a huge mistake by petal dusting the centers, what a mess, next time I will just color some RI and put it in the middle. Ribbon done in fondant, Roses made from gumpaste. TFL

Thank you so much, these are lovely comments:) SueB and smoore, I did the brushed embroidery by doing an outline in royal and brushing it in, then I added the petal dust, but my mistake was dry brushing it on instead of mixing it with vodka or lemon extract. So then I had to go back over in white royal and brush one more time inward. Hope this helps:)

It is gorgeous! Did you put the petal dust in after you did the embroidery or before? Either way it is beautiful!

I love this! I'd also like to know if the petal dust was used while doing the embroidery or after the embroidery was done. This is a favorite!!! :D

 Gorgeous cake helipops!! I cannot for the life of me get bc completely smooth, and you can almost always see where the cake has been filled it always bulges. Any advice would be very appreciated!!

thanks, xxxtina, the only thing I recommend with the bulging is to make sure you make a dam of thick icing on each layer when you fill so that the softer icing doesn't come out. I use a thick icing on the outside to, so the thinner icing doesn't push through. Some people fill the cakes the day before and let them rest, so the next day you can scrape of any excess icing around the edges before you ice the cake.
