3-D R2D2 Cake

3-D R2D2 Cake on Cake Central

2 Strawberry box mix cakes made in two 6 inch rounds, a glass bowl with 6 inch diameter, and a 9 inch square pan. Wooden dowels (my son wanted to use the whole bag of dowels while I turned my back to tend to a younger brother... finally stopped him on the third!) through the center to stabilize. Arms were cut out of the square cake and "pinned" in with bamboo skewers. Marshmallow fondant over all. I used a Skittle for his red "eye."

Thanks! It wasn't as hard as it looks, I don't think. I did have some issues with the fondant tearing. I posted a question in the forum seeking help, but no responses yet.

This is my first post on cakecentral, my first 3-D cake ever, and my first fondant experience ever. Thanks to everyone here for the tips and suggestions that gave me the confidence to give it a go!
