Fist Of Rock Birthday Cake

Fist Of Rock Birthday Cake on Cake Central

This is a copy of Duff Goldman's Fist Of Rock Cake, and I did get his permission by email before posting. so, original design by Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes, Baltimore, Maryland.

This is for my son Josh who will be 34 tomorrow and plays lead guitar in a heavy metal band called Low Ki. He is going to love this and I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Thank you. No, I didn't have enough confidence to model the hand of sugarpaste so bought a rubber hand and glued the fingers down into the symbol for rock, or rock on.

Thanks, I can hardly wait for him to see it. The funniest part about this cake is that I hate heavy metal music, but I will do anything for one of my kids. :D

Thanks. I was hesitant to post it because I wasn't sure how it would go over here. Glad to see others have a sense of humor too. :D

I think it's great! Good idea w/ the rubber hand thing - I'd be afraid to try to mold one too! Just gotta hope that middle finger stays glued down or you have a totally different cake! LOL. Great job!

Thanks. I had an email from Duff saying it was totally awesome, big compliment because his original is so much better. My son's reaction was "No WAY Mom, that is the coolest cake you've ever made!" :D

Thanks. This was the first time I really had fun doing a cake in a long time. I love doing cakes, but most are just in the cute or pretty category. This one made me laugh.

Awesome!!! My son is 14 and loves rock, if you dont mind I think I'll try to copy you and make a cake like that for his bday

I don't mind at all. It was Duff Goldmans original design and he let me use it. If you are good at modeling you might try modeling the hand with chocolate modeling paste like he did.

I have that episode taped because I want to make this cake for my brother...I know it won't look as good as Duff's and I'm pretty sure it won't be as "rockin'" as your either! Great job!
