Sunflower Cake
This is a triple choc. fudge cake with buttercream icing and a vanilla mousse filling. The sunflowers are made out of Royal icing. I add the fall leafs for decor. This was an idea I found and tried.... learned two things well making this cake. ONE I should of made the orange base darker or used brown for the base for the sunflowers to show up. TWO, don't rush making royal icing. LOL! My icing wasn't quite stiff enough to make the 3D effect I was hoping for. OH Well Live and Learn! It taste great though!
Well besides it tasting good....IT IS GORGEOUS!!! I love it!! Dont' be so critical of yourself...It is beautful!
I forgot to mention that the center of the sunflowers are choc. chip cookies cut in half and placed on the cake to match up. Thank you for your wonderful comment!
