Wilton Course Ii - Final 'fall' Basket Weave

Wilton Course Ii - Final 'fall' Basket Weave on Cake Central

Here is my version of the Wilton Course II with the Basket Weave. I wanted a fall basket of flowers. It is iced in Cinnamon BC, the recipe is here on CC but I modified it using the Wilton basic Class BC and flavored it 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp butter, 1/4 tsp almond + 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon. Yummy!!! The cake is French Vanilla. All the flowers are Royal Icing and the Chipmunk and Bird are Color Flow with Fondant Acorns, BC leaves & grapes. I loved making this basket! Enjoy. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful cake! Can you tell me what tip you used to make your mums? I have to make 200 wedding cupcakes in November and need to practice!

Thanks for the compliments! It's a special cake to me for my MIL Birthday on Sat. Also for Cambo - I used Tip #81 VERY stiff RI. You can use BC I did it on my Fall Practice cake in my gallery photos, but use a good stiff BC icing. Thanks again.

Thanks for the nice thoughts. I had done a basket weave before but I should upload the photo to show you how sad it was. I practiced on the board about 3/4 times before going to my cake. I kept getting the spacers and the overlaps mixed up. Once I got going though it was a breeze,... just time consuming. I did have the idea of what I wanted to do though with everything else. I also added the grapes... I love how they look on cakes! Thanks again!!
