The Original Captiva Cake

The Original Captiva Cake on Cake Central

This was the cake that started the Captiva's -- there were also two satitilite cakes of the same style -- I designed this for a bride -- and then from there created my line of Captiva cakes -- this one was topped with marbled strawberries

I don't know what "Captiva" is but I'm guessing it has to do with the striped design being freestanding like a cage? (Is that a stretch?! Captive/captiva??) but the strawberries being "marbled" must mean that she used the white and milk/dark chocolates swirled together when dipping them. They look "marbled" to me! Gorgeous, by the way, MelissaRHK!

Sorry all, I've been out of town -- Captiva, french for cage -- The cakes are caged with fondant -- so yes, you were exactly correct -- as well as the strawberries, they are covered with marbled chocolate
