Margarita

Margarita on Cake Central

Yes, the margarita is cake! The 'glass' is made by glueing a clear pillar to the baseboard and attaching another board on top to support the cake. I used a frosting sheet to make the 'bill'.

I don't understand how you got the salt around the clear part at the top if the margarita is cake...what am I missing? Great cake by the way...all your cakes are beautiful!

I used a 1" wide piece of clear plastic to make the rim of the 'glass'. I put a small amount of piping gel on one edge of the plastic and sprinkled it with pearl sugar to get the look of salt.

very cool! maybe that little piece of green at the bottom is just a ball of fondant wrapped around the pillar?? It's such an innovative and creative idea! great job

The cake looks really nice. What shape & size pan did you use for the margarita cake? And where did you buy the clear plastic, an art store?
