Yes, the margarita is cake! The 'glass' is made by glueing a clear pillar to the baseboard and attaching another board on top to support the cake. I used a frosting sheet to make the 'bill'.
O.K. wait, under the cup of the margarita is a small plate? What supports the smaller rounded part?Maybe you should post a tutorial on this one. It's soo cool! And hard to believe.
I agree, you should definitely post a tutorial. This is an awesome cake! I want to learn how to do something like this. My sister is a margarita fanatic!
This is an unbelievable cake! I love the border. I wish the picture was larger - I would really like to understand how you did this. I hope you will post or PM more details..
OH MY! Another one I need to try.. for my Fiesta Themed Birthday.. this is tooooooo neat. Maybe my margarita glass will not be cake, but this is to cute not to try.. thanks for sharing this with us!
I don't understand how you got the salt around the clear part at the top if the margarita is cake...what am I missing? Great cake by the way...all your cakes are beautiful!
I used a 1" wide piece of clear plastic to make the rim of the 'glass'. I put a small amount of piping gel on one edge of the plastic and sprinkled it with pearl sugar to get the look of salt.
very cool! maybe that little piece of green at the bottom is just a ball of fondant wrapped around the pillar?? It's such an innovative and creative idea! great job
HI.. beautiful cake well done.. in a previous response you said the instructions are listed above . Can you provide me or direct me where to obtain them. I looked in the articles and didnt find it.
