Thanks!!!! The spikes: I cut the whole back, all the way, and inserted a piece of brown modelling paste. And then I cut the spikes with scissors.

The modeling paste is Ballinas modeling paste (from Argentina). You can mix flower paste (gum paste) with suger paste to get a modeling paste.
