Baby Einstein Birthday Cake
This was my first attempt at cake decorating. I used the sports ball cake pan for each of the sections, using a double cake for the head. The antennae were tricky. I stuck toothpicks in the head and piped thick frosting over them. Then I froze the curly tops and stuck those into the tops of the toothpicks. It was a great hit for my daughters first birthday!

Wow that is great!! Im doing a caterpillar cake using the sports ball pan. I was wondering if you can tell me how many people did you cake serve. Any estimate would be very helpful. By the way you did a fantastic job on your first cake, keep it up.
Thanks for the compliments! My estimate is that this cake served about 50-55 people. Each half ball probably serves 8-10 people. Good luck on your caterpillar! Except for the size of the board, this cake was actually pretty easy!
