Tilted Underwater Adventure

Tilted Underwater Adventure on Cake Central

The Bride and Groom did not want anything they had seen in a magazine at all, so we all brainstormed and came up with this. She works with the fishies and he with Orangatans so we made them a topper out of clay, baked and painted them. All the parts on the cake are made of either fondant or gum paste (the cake is frosted though, not fondant) with the bottom layer to look like water, the middle grass and the top layer like a sunset...We didnt breathe for most of the drive there. HEHE!

I have a bride who wants her cake shaped like this. I have never attempted something of this nature. How did you get the cakes to stay stacked when they are so tilted?

very carefully! We are going to start charging differently for the slanted cakes now, as they are just too stressful to do, I think there is a great article on this site explaining the proceedure on how to do them!
