Cara's Sweet Sixteen Luau Cake
This is the cake that I worried about for the past 4 months. I wanted it to be special for my little girl's sweet sixteen luau. The bottom tier was a 10-inch white cake with raspberry filling. The middle tier was an 8-inch white cake with pineapple, coconut, and macadamia nut filling. The final tier was a 6-inch white cake with strawberry filling. All the layers were covered in turquoise colored buttercream and covered in white chocolate shells, sea stars, and coral. Thanks for looking!
All I can say is "WOW!" Totally awesome job! Perfect colors!
Thanks! This cake has evolved since my daughter and I began to plan it. She was very pleased with the outcome so that makes me a very happy mama.
Beautiful cake !!! All the details are so perfect !!
Very nice! How did you do the coral? I just do simple chocolate molds with as little extra color as possible.
I had a pattern for the coral. I placed some wax paper over the pattern and traced the pattern using the melted chocolate. Then I let it dry, When it's time to use them I peel the paper off just like you would royal icing flowers. I think the coral added a lot to the cake. I looked at a lot of cakes on this site before I decided on this design. Thanks for the compliments.
This cake is awesome! You should be proud of yourself!
Wow ~ the extremes we will go through to make sure our precious children know how special they are. You did a fantastic job on these!!!!
