My very fist cake! This was for my daughters first birthday. I hope it is OK to use ideas from people on this site! Thanks ladies for all the ideas!! I also made a "smash cake" for my daughter and chocolate cupcakes with daisy's on them. The cake is a white cake recipe with buttercream frosting! thanks for all your ideas and tips!

I love lady bugs!!! I made a lady bug cake for my little girls birthday last year. She loved it!! We also bought live ladybugs to show and planted flowers for kids to take home. I hope Katie ladybug Birthday was as fun as ours!! Your cake is GREAT!!!! Keep up the good work. Katie will look back on this cake years from now and be so happy her Mother took the time to make her Birthday so special.

Thanks ladies! Looking forward to making more- and practicing! I hope to take a class sometime soon too! Thanks to Tmassey5, Piepolo and KimAZ for the inspiration pictures! Loved ALL the ladybug photos on this site!

Thanks! The body and head are glass mixing bowls. My aunt gave me that tip as I was panicking about a pan. I held the body and head together with toothpicks. If I even do a cake like this again- I will def. get a Wilton round pan- it would be easier to bake I think.
