June Wedding

June Wedding on Cake Central

This was my second wedding cake. It is cream cheese pound cake with buttercream filling and fondant. The striped border was hand piped at the bride's request. The small pink cake is a fruit cake I made 6 months ago. The flowers on the white cake are fresh, the flowers on the small cake are sugarpaste. The butterflies are edible.

This is absolutely beautiful! I love the stripes. Did you just alternate tips and colors on top of the base fondant because it looks like there is an ivory color in the stripe?

I love this! Just beautiful! How did you get those stripes so straight? My goodness, I nevre could have pulled that off! Kudos!

The sizes are 16", 12", and 8" - it will serve about 200 people. I will put the cream cheese pound cake recipe in the recipe section for all of you.

I love everything about this cake....I would love to have the recipe for the cream cheese pound cake....that sounds gooooood! Ooooh so beautiful!

Yes, the stripes are royal icing. I stacked this cake using 6 wooden dowels for each tier and one dowel straight through the entire cake. Just one wax coated, cardboard cake board under each tier. It doesn't seem like much, but it does the trick!

What a beautiful cake! did you stack and finish the cake before you delievered it or did you finish it there? I have my first wedding cake coming up and I'm worried about transporting it. Great Job! :D

This is only my second large cake, so I am afraid to put it together before I transport it. I always call ahead to the venue to ask when I can come in to set up the cake. They are usually very accomodating. Don't even put the dowels in before transport, because the cake will settle a bit (learned that the hard way). Just bring everything you need, take your time, and have fun!!!

Once again, I have to say, this is the most beautiful cake I have ever seen!!! I absolutely love everything about it. The hand piped striped border looks so perfect. That must have been realy tedious to do. What tips did you use? The fruitcake turned out gorgeous as well. Did you use a family recipe or the Christmas fruitcake recipe on this site? Sorry for so many questions, but I just love this. I am anxious to make a fruitcake but a little worried about it. You should be very pr

First, I printed them out on sugar wafer paper with my edible image printer. I cut them out and used the backing to trace the same shape onto a very thin piece of sugarpaste. I affixed the butterflies to the sugarpaste with a spray of water and dried them in flower formers. If you need more hlep - you can leave me a message!

Oh it's gorgeous! Beautiful colors and beautifully done! May I ask how you got the curve on the top of each cake? They look tall and straight but slant in sightly about the middle. I like the look but can't tell if it's an illusion because the tiers are split with the beading or if you used different pans for them. Very very attractive! I'll go look for the recipe now. Thanks for sharing it.
