Mixed Shape Wedding Cake

Mixed Shape Wedding Cake on Cake Central

Done for outdoor wedding - lime green fondant, 3 sprays of phaleanopsis orchids at top with purchased ribbon. The day was rainy - and cake placed in covered gazebo - sweated like crazy - but bride loved the 'ceramic look'

Wow this cake is very unique. I wish I could get an order for less traditional wedding cake. I love this colour. So how do you transport a big cake like this to the reception?

i really like the unique shape combinations and how you covered the tappered tier in fondant strips. great work

boonenati - with the exception of the top 3 layers, the rest of the cake was out of dummies. Slab cake was also made to put into favour boxes...so bride wanted only the top three to share with inlaws, and keep for first anniversary. Sure made stacking easier!!!

Hi Briniga, there are 6 layers of cakes, 3 real at the top, three dummies from the curved one down, then three fabric covered boards. As far as the sizes go, they were 16"x 6" septagon at bottom - continuing with 12"x4ing
