After Debbie Brown's Sugar Plum Fairy

I made this for my daughter's first birthday (just for the immediate family and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law). I'll be making something else for the party tomorrow. This was for practice and is my first attempt at modeling fondant by hand. Actually it's only the third time I've ever covered a cake with rolled fondant period. Hopefully with a bit of practice, I'll get better

That is so precious! I just tried modeling with MMF for the first time and I was not nearly as successful as you. GREAT JOB!

i love the idea and how you made it! can you share how you make all of the frills? i think i have an idea but my idea seems too difficult for me. perhaps your way is more doable for me. if you don't mind sharing?

Sure. The book says to use a Garrett cutter - I used two different sized biscuit cutters - to make a circle of fondant that has a scalloped edge. Next, take a toothpick and use it like a mini rolling pin over the scalloped edges to make them thin and frilly. Then cut the circle with the toothpick so that it's a somewhat straight piece and attach to the cake.
