You all were being so nice I didn't have the heart to tell you that the icing is royal. And your not going to believe how I got it so smooth. I used an electric sander. It took several hours. Had to frost it 3 time, letting it dry in between sandings. It was for a competition.

Ha ha ha!!!! That is the best trick I have ever heard! I'm going to use that one for my next wedding cake order...think they'll notice when they cut the cake???Seriously though it's BEAUTIFUL!!! How did you do in the competition?? :lol:

Incredible ! Your flowers are so beautiful and amazing! How did you learn to get them that perfect? I've been reading and took a course but could only dream to get them that lifelke.

Thank you. I'm self taught. I thought these were pretty good until I took a class from Colette. Since that class my flowers have gotten much. If you havne't seen my baby shower hatbox cake in my album, I hope you get a chance to take a look it. I was very happy with those flowers.

I was going to ask if you'd tried the upside down icing method. I guess sanding works too. LOL It's beautiful!
