Retro Purse on Cake Central

I have to say that this is my favorite cake out of any cake I have ever made.......This purse is iced smooth with buttercream. Colored fondant accents. Fondant straps. Buttercream trim.

Thanks! Actually, I use the wilton buttercream recipe but use water instead of milk. I always make a double batch which equals 6 cups, then at the end of mixing, I ad 2 T. corn syrup. The corn syrup is the key to my smooth icing.

I just got a request for a purse cake for a friends daught for her 16th birthday, thanks for the idea. I the cake a 2 layer on it side, if so how thick is the icing in the middle?
