Pirates Of The Caribbean

Pirates Of The Caribbean on Cake Central

Cake is covered with MMF, each plank place individually (I covered with white then airbrushed brown, then rolled out brown MMF...). The wood grain was made by lightly "beating" it with my pizza wheel very randomly. To make the imprints from the rivets, I poked with the end of a paintbrush. Sails are parchment, burned around the edges on dowels (painted with royal to darken). Rails are MMF. Took inspiration from bmote1 on the planking and rails and lou on the shape! Toys are from the Pirates cake kit.

My 5 year old had requested the pirates theme even though he hasn't seen the movie...I wanted him to have a cool cake, mission accomplished! The look on his face was priceless! Starfish are molded chocolate...there was also a treasure chest filled with chocolate wrapped coins off to the side.
