50Th Wedding Anniversary
Just finished the beast. I actually made it a two layer slab cake because the cake didn't bake up that high. The side is done in basketweave. The roses are done in Royal Icing. Gosh I hate those flowers!

I get such a kick out of the fact that you guys think the roses are great. You should see the other 50 I made that are horrible....LOL

Designing cakes can be the hardest part, and this is nicely done!
You hate those roses? Are you kidding me? I'd KILL to have mine come out that good every time .... nice and full; uniform size. The bed of leaves between them is also very full. I LUV IT!!!!!!!!!!
I pretty much had an idea about the color scheme but winged it as far as the leaves went. I never know what I am going to do when I start....
looks great to me. I'm not the best rose maker so I always admire someone elses. these are killer.
You hate them because they're hard to do?--- they're beautiful
I hate roses because for every good one that I make I make 5 bad ones.... :D

I should have said also that I used Tip 116 which I adore because it gives such great curved petals. I also used a Hershey's kiss for the base of the rose.
