Gone Camping (Front)
I made this cake for my son's 2nd grade end of the year party. This is the first time I have ever done fondant figures. I really enjoyed making this cake. The figure is his teacher who is an avid camper. It is an 11x15 square, with an 8 inch and 6 inch rounds. The trees are sugar cones with royal icing, the teacher, back pack & blue bird are fondant. The tent is graham cracker glued with royal icing then covered in fondant. The cake it self is a three layer white cake, with white bc frosting. Then covered in green bc, the river is multi hued blue bc piped out with a #12 tip and the tuffs of grass and trees were done with a #233 tip. This cake was completely inspired by Coastiemom and her Gone Hiking cake. Thank you Coastiemom you helped me become a hero in my little mans eyes I will also post pictures of the other sides.
