She is Gorgeous!!!!!! Please help me out here I have to make this cake as well for october. I only took class #1 and 2 in wilton. I have never worked with fondant. How can I make that dress with the pleats like that in BC?I wanted to ask also does the cake tear apart when you insert a doll like that? I am so used to using the doll picks for the mold. This

Thank you very much for your kind comments. The only parts that are fondant are the top of her dress and the piece that goes around her waist. I'm not sure how you could make that waist part pleated with bc. The dress itself is bc, the pleats are made with the opposite end of the decorator brush after bc crusted over. Yes, you do have to make the center of the wonder mold cake a bit larger to accomodate Barbie's hips. I just carve out a little at a time until she fits. PM me if you need more info.

Oh wow! That's a pretty cake. Your borders are so perfect. I can never get my bc the right consistency. I love how the skirt looks like fondant .

Love your cake. It looks perfect. I do have to make my first doll cake for this Saturday, but I don't know how to put two diferent colors of BC for her dress. Could you help me please? Also, did you use an extra 8 in. cake undre the wondermold? Did you use just royal-blue or sky-blue in order to make the color blue of the dress?
